Close-up views of Doug Foster's 2016 video installation. This film was inspired by the Roman goddess’s ‘wheel of fate’, a symbol of the inevitable changes of fortune that occur throughout our lives with no apparent rhyme or reason. In the artwork the wheel of fate is represented as a twelve-sided, wreath-like array that continuously turns itself inside out as it slowly cycles through sixteen transformations. Each formation can be read as the harbinger of a particular fate.
